Spiritual Forces(Satan and Unclean Spirits)

lest Satan should take advantage of us;
for we are not ignorant of his devices.
2 Corinthians 2:11
Recently I've been somewhat perplexed by certain
things I've seen. I always kind of looked past these certain
verses in the bible, not that I didn't take them seriously
per se, but I just never really ever thought much about them.
What I'm referring to for example would be the verses
about "unclean spirits"/Demons, and after reading a book
called "Biblical Demonology"(I suggest you read)
and reading all the biblical
references...Holy crap there is a lot of scripture that
talks about "unclean spirits"/demons.
I mean don't get it twisted, I was always on the belief side
that our battle is not with flesh and blood I.E
For We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness
in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
I wasn't one of those "Christians" who didn't believe in Satan,
who held on to some belief that Satan/the Devil isn't real...
that he's essentially just our carnal minds or whatever
the popular belief is now adays. If you think about it,
how many people take scripture in the bible about
unclean spirits/demons and Satan seriously?
The greatest thing Satan has seem to have done
is convince a mass majority that he isn't real,
that the scripture in the bible that talks about
Demons/unclean spirits is just mumbo jumbo..
just superstition from the ancient times.
You got "Christians" who believe like that, then you have
"Christians" who believe in the spiritual forces... but
don't give it much credit. Oh sure they believe in the holy
spirit and God speaking to us through it, but when it comes
to the other side of the coin, the Devil and unclean spirits,
sure they believe...they just don't care about it
because they are saved by Christ and
what can unclean spirits and the Devil do to them?
I would say I leaned somewhat towards the "believed
but didn't really care". Once again don't get it twisted..
I'm not saying we as "Christians" should be scared of
The Devil and unclean spirits, because we are filled with the holy spirit,
We have the victor, we have the King of Kings Lord of lords God
almighty on our side, we kinda know who wins =)
We however should be prepared, we should know the Devils devices
and not be ignorant of them. It seems that now adays "Spiritualism"
is very much apart of our culture, and while there are a good amount
who look at "spiritualism" as a joke... NEVER ONCE did the Holy
word of God look at it as a joke. Why would God through-out the
old testament warn us of not practicing "witch-Craft"/conjuring
spells or mediums and calling up the dead if it was all just a
"joke". All of those are devices of the devil, which he will use
to allure people away from God to make them think
that they can control what they truly don't understand.
But of course thats all just superstition right? just a bunch
of mumbo jumbo...I mean there's no such thing... really?
I mean either you believe the word of God or you don't...
Remember in the old Testament when Moses and Aaron were before
Pharaoh and they did what the Lord commanded? Aaron
threw down his rod and it became a serpent...what did Pharaoh
do? He called his sorcerers in and they did the exact
same thing...Of course Aaron's rod/serpent ate up
the sorcerers rods/serpents but thats not the point
I'm trying to make. The point is Egypt had sorcerers/
magicians who could do what God did through
Aaron and Moses. Because they were great
magicians? great men? no, because the devil
was working through them to hopefully make Moses
and Aaron just give up and deny GOD in seeing
that heathens could essentially do the same thing
with their spells and incantations.
How come something that is warned against,
something that is taken very seriously through-out
the word of God be taken as a joke now adays? There is a
reason why it is forbidden to practice such things...
There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son
or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices
witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens,
or a sorcerer,
or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one
who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are
an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations
the LORD your God drives them out from before you.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Was God warning us not to practice such things because
they are a joke? because they are not real? He was warning
us because it is serious...because all of those things open
you up to be controlled by "evil spirits"...
Think of it like this, we are filled with the Holy Spirit,
You acknowledge that much..right? and God speaks to us through
that Holy spirit.....Now what fills the void for someone who
doesn't know God? If they deny God, if they are not full of
his Holy spirit...they are thus open to be filled with
an "unclean spirit" and who works through "unclean spirits"?
If you said Satan...DING DING DING DING...
Like for example Saul who had a "Distressing spirit" inside him
that could only be calmed by David and his harp. Or how
about in the New Testament..
Was jesus not exorcising Demons? like something from the movie
exorcist? when he commanded the "unclean spirits" out of a
man and into the heard of swine? Or Mary Mag'dalene
who was also "healed from evil spirits". Not to mention
the many others that Jesus and even the disciples themselves
healed from "evil spirits". How can someone argue what is
plainly written in the word of God, either you choose to ignore it
or you are denying Christ's power and calling him and the disciples
liars.
Further more we are told to, we are called to put on the
whole armor of God daily...
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and
in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11
Therefore take up the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
Ephesians 6:13-18
We are filled with the Holy spirit, we are not to be weak minded
and to leave ourselves open to attacks from the devil.
Jesus even said as Followers we ourselves would cast
out unclean spirits..
He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned.
And these signs will follow those who believe:
In My name they will cast out demons;
they will speak with new tongues;
they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly,
it will by no means hurt them;
they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
Mark 16:16-18
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me,
the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father.
John 14:12
Obviously not by our own hands it will be through
Christ working through us that demons are cast out,
and the sick healed TO HIM be all the glory, NOT US!.
You can't fight the enemy without
knowing the enemy and his devises...if you don't take
evil seriously, if you actually believe there is no
"Devil" you have already lost, Ignorance isn't bliss.

The Fall of Lucifer
The Bible has a couple of places where it talks about..
Lucifer/The Devil/Satan, there's not alot of focus obviously on him..
but we can get the general Idea of how he use to be,
and why exactly he was cast out of heaven.
How you have fallen from heaven,
O morning star(Lucifer), son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart,
"I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly
on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the most high.
But you are brought down to the grave,
to the depths of the pit.
Isaiah 14:12-14
You were the model of perfection,
full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
ruby,topaz and emerald,chrysolite,onyx and jasper,
sapphire,turquoise and beryl. Your settings
and mountings were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared.
You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones,
you were blameless in your ways
from the day you were created
till wickedness was found in you.
Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence,
and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from
the mount of God,
and I expelled you, O guardian cherub,
from among the fiery stones.
Your heart became proud on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.
Ezekiel 28:12-17
Inevitably talking about Lucifer falling from heaven
brings up the question...
"Do Angels have free-will? and if they have it,
and this "Lucifer" was so wise, then why would he try and become God,
knowing full well that God created him in the first place?"
Obviously angels were given free-will otherwise
Satan would have never had the choice to turn against God.
From those scriptures it would seem he became "Proud"..
which if you look up proud in the dictionary it says:
"feeling self-respect or pleasure in something by which
you measure your self-worth; or being a reason for pride."
Reading into those scriptures, and how he became
proud on account of his beauty,
the only way to take that would be he was prideful ..
meaning...
"having or showing arrogant superiority to and disdain
of those one views as unworthy"
Lucifer was the most beautiful angel..
he was the most wise, he was second to God,
and his ego got out of control..
he wanted to make himself higher then the Almighty.
Which in my eyes, I'm thinking..
"How freakin stupid can you be?
God created you, and yet somehow you think you can be more
powerful then him?"
it just doesn't make much sense to me,
It says though in Ezekiel..that his wisdom was corrupted,
so obviously because he became so prideful of himself
that it clouded his judgement.
and there was war in heaven.
Michael and his angels fought against the dragon,
and the dragon and his angels fought back.
But he was not strong enough, and they lost
their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down
that ancient serpent called the devil or satan,
who leads the whole world astray.
Revelation 12:7
What, you may ask, does this have to do with us?
satan wants payback, and he walks through the earth
as I speak.. seeking to devour whomever he can.
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls
around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
1 Peter 5:8
Satan knows he can't touch God,
and the only way he can hurt God..
is to attack Gods greatest creation...
the creation he loves most, and that would be US.
Satan is jealous that God could love such imperfection..
such filth and sin. He's going to take as many
of us away from God as he can.
Some may question then..
"Well then why did God create Satan if he knew he would
just turn out like this?"
It really comes down to... freewill
Satan/Lucifer/The Devil is pretty much the embodiment
of free-will, he was the first to choose not to worship God,
He was the one who whispered lies and tricked Eve
to eat of the forbidden fruit introducing Sin to human kind.
God doesn't want us to be mindless zombies,
you have a choice to worship him or not..
you can choose to reject him altogether just as Satan did.
I've recently come across a fantastic series of books
called "The chronicles of Brothers" by Wendy Alec..
the first in the series is called "The fall of Lucifer"..
It's fiction but it is surrounded and based off of truth,
and the word of God, obviously it being fiction
it probably didn't happen like the author wrote it..
but it is a brilliant book.
I've recently finished the first book, and I was amazed
just how much I loved the story.
Wendy Alec, for those who do not know
is the creator, along with her husband, of GodTv
and I'm not even a fan of the channel..
but thank God one night I stumbled upon it,
and there was Wendy talking about her book,
and I was like
"hmm..that sounds like an interesting book"
so I went ahead and ordered it from her site,
and I was a little scared to tell you the truth..
because I'm not a huge fan of "Christian fiction"
and I figured it being something off of Godtv(no offense)
it had to be cheesy and dull..
needless to say it was far from it!
I'm serious when I say this is up there with Lord of the rings..
or Chronicles of Narnia...
I guess Wendy wanted this idea of hers
"The Chronicles of Brothers"
to be a trilogy of movies much like Lord of the Rings,
but it never got off the ground, so she ended up writing the books,
and I guess since the first two are so popular..
(Third one comes out later this year)
it's going to become a trilogy of movies.
After reading just the first one(Working on the second),
I can honestly say..
this could be made into such an awesome movie.
I just hope it's not totally turned into crap
like the Chronicles of Narnia was....
which I have high hopes it wont be because
Wendy mentioned Batman begins and Lord of the rings
when she was comparing what she wanted the movie to be like.
If you would like to get a copy of these books
or would just like to know more about it,
and why wouldn't you?
Click here---> Chronicles of brothers
here's a sample of the book in video form..
God bless..
