Serving God opposite of His word?

Faith today has really become belittled,

Following the word of God is really just an after

thought, or rather a "Nice thought". People claim

they are "For Christ" but their words and their actions

are directly against the very word of God.

I don't claim to know it all, but I can seriously

see how for my generation and this generation

it's hard to know solid TRUTH, because on one

hand the world won't teach you solid TRUTH, and

on the other hand "popular" mainstream Christianity

wont teach you solid TRUTH either…

I always find it sad and yet laughable when I hear people explain what a "Christian" is or what a Christian is not, specially when it is by people who are not followers of the faith themselves. Kind of like when a mormon comes up to you and says "I follow Jesus Christ and teach his word, would you like to know more?" that would be an example of laughable, laughable and yet sad mind you because they claim they are Christian, which is an example of the title of this blog "Serving God opposite of His word" which is laughable because that's not possible…YOU CAN'T serve GOD and be opposite of what His word says, and yet it is sad because far to many just don't get it.

Not to just pick on Mormons either, the same can be said of "Westboro Baptists Church" who claims to be "Christian" yet preaches/protests nothing but hate, same can be said for others who claim to be "Christian" yet don't preach a wrath of God at all. This all kind of collates with what I've been reading in 2 Kings and Isaiah about Assyria and King Hezekiah…(bare with me here..)

And when they had called to the king, Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came out to them.

Then the Rabshakeh said to them, "Say now to Hezekiah, 'Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: "What confidence is this in which you trust?

"You speak of having plans and power for war; but they are mere words. And in whom do you trust, that you rebel against me? "Now look! You are trusting in the staff of this broken reed, Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

But if you say to me, 'We trust in the LORD our God,' is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem'?"'

"Now therefore, I urge you, give a pledge to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses—if you are able on your part to put riders on them! "How then will you repel one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and horsemen?

Have I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, 'Go up against this land, and destroy it.'"

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, Shebna, and Joah said to the Rabshakeh, "Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand it; and do not speak to us in Hebrew in the hearing of the people who are on the wall."

But the Rabshakeh said to them, "Has my master sent me to your master and to you to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat and drink their own waste with you?"

Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out with a loud voice in Hebrew, and spoke, saying, "Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria! "Thus says the king: 'Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not be able to deliver you from his hand; 'nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, "The LORD will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria."' Do not listen to Hezekiah; for thus says the king of Assyria: 'Make peace with me by a present and come out to me; and every one of you eat from his own vine and every one from his own fig tree, and every one of you drink the waters of his own cistern; 'until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive groves and honey, that you may live and not die. But do not listen to Hezekiah, lest he persuade you, saying, "The LORD will deliver us."

'Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria?

'Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim and Hena and Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand?

'Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?'"

But the people held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king's commandment was, "Do not answer him."

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of the Rabshakeh.

2 Kings 18:18-37

A "Rabshakeh" back then was a high-ranking officer in the Assyrian army, and he was trying to get Jerusalem to just give up and surrender to Assyria, even claiming that God himself has given him the authority to take the city.

Saying that God was displeased with King Hezekiah for earlier purging the alters and High places(2 Kings 18:15).

The Rabshakeh was playing on the near eastern belief at the time, that "gods" owned the land and could give it to whomever they wish.

So we can see that "The Rabshakeh" claiming God has given him authority to take Jerusalem is ludicrous, "The Rabshakeh" was treating the situation as if God the one true GOD, was just another god of some land he was about to conquer and control and would fall to his god just like all the "other gods" did. So on some level we can see how "The Rabshakeh" story is much like those who claim they serve God but are opposite of His word, "The Rabshakeh" wasn't serving anything but blasphemy. Wether "The Rabshakeh" and Assyria knew it or not they only existed at the command of THE ONLY ONE TRUE GOD.

So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

And Isaiah said to them, "Thus you shall say to your master, 'Thus says the LORD: "Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.

"Surely I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land."'

2 Kings 19:5-7

The story of The king of Assyria "Sennacherib" and "The Rabshakeh" is also in Isaiah 36:2. Now we know that Assyria was feared, Assyria destroyed many nations and had much power but when it all comes down to it God will not be mocked , Assyria mocked many gods and got away with it, because simply put they were not gods at all they were false gods made by the hands of men, just as King Hezekiah put it in his prayer to God..

Then Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said: "O LORD God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth."Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.

"Truly, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,"and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were not gods, but the work of men's hands—wood and stone. Therefore they destroyed them.

2 Kings 19:15-18

God didn't take blasphemy and mocking lightly back then and the King of Assyria paid the price for it, just as those who do it now will also.

If you truly serve God, then you will live according to His word it's as simple as that.

You can't serve God and then be opposed to His word, it doesn't work like that. Either you are born again or you are not, Christ does a work in you and a change comes and the old passes away and you are "born again" made new through Jesus Christ OR YOU ARE NOT.

There is no… "I believe in Jesus Christ, and I'm saved from sin so now I can continue in it"

umm no…that would mean you don't know Christ at all, and a change never did come.

Because if you really "know Christ" and a change did come, that change would have come from Him(not yourself) and you will no longer want to LIVE IN SIN…it's really that simple..

Those who try to justify their sins and say it's "ok I'm saved" are slapping God in the face, and are not saved at all.

Same goes with those that stand there like they are Gods gift to the world and spew hatred like they themselves are perfect. Those living in sin ANY sin and trying to "justify" it are living for themselves and don't want that change to come, for the one thousandth time Selfishness is not Christ(Christian) at all.

Serving God opposite of His word, wether that means living opposite of it or opposed to it or if it means picking and choosing what suits your needs from it….The fact is you are not serving at all unless you are wholly committed to God and His word.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good
to those who love God, to those who are the called according
to His purpose. - Romans 8:28

Loyalty pretty much sums up Romans 8:28,
does this verse mean that because we love God that only good will come?
no, not at all...
the verse means those who love God are loyal to God,
and they realize that all things work out in the end for good.
When trouble and sufferings come, and they will come,
those who love God understand that no matter the circumstance,
no matter what happens, trusting and putting their faith in God
is most important. Our Loyalty should be unshakable, all things we know
are possible through God, what is more important then your relationship with Christ? Why, how rather, could you let any trouble come between it?
When bad circumstances come it’s not ‘Why me?’ it’s should be more
like ‘Why not me?’. Put your trust in God, have unshakable faith
that everything happens for a reason and nothing can detour Gods will.

We will be loyal to work, to service, to anything,
but do not ask us to be loyal to Jesus Christ.
Many Christians are intensely impatient of
talking about loyalty to Jesus.
Our Lord is dethroned more emphatically by Christian workers
than by the world. God is made a machine for blessing men,
and Jesus Christ is made a Worker among workers.
The idea is not that we do work for God,
but that we are so loyal to Him that He can do His work through us -
"I reckon on you for extreme service, with no complaining on your part and no explanation on Mine."
God wants to use us as He used His own Son.
December 18th My Utmost for His highest

It's easy to get into the mode of
"I'm so loyal to Christ, look at what I do for him."
But that is not of Christ at all,What good is in us really?
the only good in us is Christ himself through the Holy Spirit.
Any credit, any thanks for work that you say you do for God
should go to God not your self.

Stop trying to be pious and Holy and BE pious and Holy...
The more you try to be pious and Holy the more you will fail...
the only way to be pious and Holy is through Christ,
so stop trying to be something and let Christ Be it through you!
Stop trying to mold the clay and let God be the molder without
any interference on your part!

Be what you were always meant to be, we were not Created to
live as we have lived since Adam, we were created to be Holy
and in Gods presence, yet we are far from it because of Sin...
but if you deny that you can be changed, if you deny that you can be made Holy,
then you deny the power of God, you deny what was done for you
on the cross and through the Son.

Jeremiah 7:8-10

"Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit.

Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely,

burn incense to Ba'al, and walk after other gods

whom you do not know,

and then come and stand before Me in this house which

is called by My name, and say,

'We are delivered to do all these abominations'?

Jeremiah 7:8-10

Jeremiah was warning Judah, telling them they were

'trusting in lying words'. Lying words from the priests

and false prophets, believing that they could do whatever

they wanted, believing they could worship other gods...

that they could murder and steal and break every commandment

the LORD God gave them and God wouldn't care. To the people

of Jeremiah's time all that mattered was that the "Temple of the LORD" stood. They put there trust in the Temple, and essentially

they believed as long as the temple was standing and they could go

and get "Forgiveness of sins" they could intern just simply wash

their hands clean and go and continue doing whatever they wanted, they could even have other gods.

"Do not trust in these lying words, saying, 'The temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD are these.'

Jeremiah 7:4

I've said it before and I'll say it some more, I'm sure a lot of people

are thinking...

"Oh...those stupid...stupid..people of the old Testament"

Really? are a good majority of us "Christians" not exactly

the same today? those who claim Christ has made them new,

and grafted them into the tree, yet remain exactly as they were before? While the jews of Jeremiah's time put their trust

in the temple and thought they could please God and themselves

at the same time, thinking they could go off and do whatever they wanted because

"hey it doesn't matter.. we can just go to the temple and sacrifice an animal and be forgiven, God will protect us, we can live like our heathen neighbors, we can sin all we want, but just make sure we go once a month and sacrifice an animal."

It really hasn't changed today from Jeremiah's time,

in fact it's probably even worse, now it's..

"Hey it doesn't matter, I accepted Jesus in my Heart I'm saved!

He died on the cross for my sins, so I can be oblivious now to

my sins, I can live however I want and you can't judge me or

my life style because I am saved."

I touched on it a little bit a couple blogs ago, about how

a good amount of "christians" don't even know the ten commandments, they don't think they even matter at all.

They think that the Old Testament is a bunch of old

scribbles and mumbo jumbo and it doesn't mean jack...

Really? I guess people completely ignore that Christ

did nothing but QUOTE FROM IT....what do you think

Christ and the disciples studied? what did they revolve their

ministry and teaching around? God didn't change from the

Old Testament to the NEW, He's the same as He ever was, and

He will always be the same. In fact I don't even like the term

"Old Testament" and "New Testament" for you wouldn't have

the New if you didn't have the "old", and just as Paul said he wouldn't of known what sin was if it wasn't for the Law.

Christ Himself said..

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets."

Matthew 5:17

If the "Old Testament" doesn't matter, If the Commandments

don't mean anything, then why did Christ quote

so much from the "old",why did he speak on the commandments/law in his sermon on the mount? why did he tell a man to follow them in Matthew 19:18? and probably most of all If the commandments

and the Old testament don't matter then why did Christ have

to be Sacrificed for us?

Just like the jews in Jeremiah's time, We claim to be for God

and yet refuse to stand by His word.

My people have turned their backs on me and have refused to

return. Day after day, year after year, I taught them right from

wrong, but they would not listen or obey.

Jeremiah 32:33

Repent or Perish

In Him we have . . . the forgiveness of sins . . .

Beware of the pleasant view of the fatherhood of God: God is so kind and loving that of course He will forgive us. That thought, based solely on emotion, cannot be found anywhere in the New Testament. The only basis on which God can forgive us is the tremendous tragedy of the Cross of Christ. To base our forgiveness on any other ground is unconscious blasphemy. The only ground on which God can forgive our sin and reinstate us to His favor is through the Cross of Christ. There is no other way! Forgiveness, which is so easy for us to accept, cost the agony at Calvary. We should never take the forgiveness of sin, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and our sanctification in simple faith, and then forget the enormous cost to God that made all of this ours.-(My Utmost For His Highest Nov.20th)

Your Salvation does not come free. God does not just simply forgive, God is just and He is Holy, God doesn't merely forgive you because He is love. God isn't a big hippy in the sky
who is required to forgive you because all he knows is "love".

You can not earn salvation and Gods love, you are fallen
fallible man, you are horrible, you are wicked and the only
thing you deserve is GODS righteous just wrath, the only
thing you deserve is eternal punishment. Your salvation is
NOT FREE! the wrath and anger of our just God was poured
out onto God in the flesh Christ Jesus, only through the sacrificial lamb are you forgiven. It is only free in the sense
that you did nothing to deserve or earn such forgiveness,
and there is nothing you can do.

Christ was sacrificed, He accepted the cup, accepted the Fathers will.

"O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me;
nevertheless, not as I will, but as YOU will."
Matthew 26:39

He took the wrath of God that you deserve, paid the price
so you could be made clean. otherwise God couldn't even
look upon you.. because you're filthy and sinful in His eyes.
You can not humanize God, you can't put him in a little box
and make Him who you want Him to be,
You can't simply ignore that God is not just love,
He is also a God of wrath and isn't oblivious to open rebellion. You can't say God will just simply forgive me
because He loves me, there was nothing simple and easy
with Christ shedding His blood for you on the cross.

I have finished the work which You
have given Me to do —John 17:4

The death of Jesus Christ is the fulfillment in history of the very mind and intent of God. There is no place for seeing Jesus Christ as a martyr. His death was not something that happened to Him— something that might have been prevented. His death was the very reason He came.
Never build your case for forgiveness on the idea that God is our Father and He will forgive us because He loves us. That contradicts the revealed truth of God in Jesus Christ. It makes the Cross unnecessary, and the redemption “much ado about nothing.” God forgives sin only because of the death of Christ. God could forgive people in no other way than by the death of His Son, and Jesus is exalted as Savior because of His death. “We see Jesus . . . for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor . . .” (Hebrews 2:9). The greatest note of triumph ever sounded in the ears of a startled universe was that sounded on the Cross of Christ— “It is finished!” (John 19:30). That is the final word in the redemption of humankind.
Anything that lessens or completely obliterates the holiness of God, through a false view of His love, contradicts the truth of God as revealed by Jesus Christ. Never allow yourself to believe that Jesus Christ stands with us, and against God, out of pity and compassion, or that He became a curse for us out of sympathy for us. Jesus Christ became a curse for us by divine decree. Our part in realizing the tremendous meaning of His curse is the conviction of sin. Conviction is given to us as a gift of shame and repentance; it is the great mercy of God. Jesus Christ hates the sin in people, and Calvary is the measure of His hatred.
(My Utmost For His Highest Nov.21st)

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins

Who Was Cain's wife?

Then God said, "let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air;

and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that

creeps on the earth.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God

He created him; Male and Female He created them.

Genesis 1:26-27

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became

a living being.

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and

he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman,

and He brought her to the man.

Genesis 2:21-22

And Adam called his Wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all

living.

Genesis 3:20

So I've been reading "Answers book 1" by Ken Ham,

he gives biblical answers to questions that most atheists or

even Christians themselves have (Good book).

I never really questioned myself, how man was created, to me personally

I always thought evolution (the opposite side of the proverbial coin) sounded

completely moronic( even when I wasn't a follower of Christ)

To me coming from apes or ooze or some random act of millions of years

just didn't make any freakin sense whatsoever, in fact it still doesn't.

Some Christians do tend to mix humanism and evolutionary thinking

and try to mix it with their believe system, but really you can't do that with the

word of God, you either take it for what it says/means or you don't, you can't

read into scripture and twist words around to make it fit whatever preconceived

notions you have.

Now I thought I would talk about Adam and Eve and their children,

simply because it is after all rather important to have a BIBLICAL understanding.

I don't think any Christian really questions Adam and Eve, a major question

that does arise however is WHERE did Cain's wife come from? Everyone

knows the story of Cain and Abel two of the children from Adam and Eve,

we all know Cain kills Abel out of jealousy and then it says Cain

is marked by God because Cain was scared people would kill him for what he

did to Able...

Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground;

I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on

the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me"

Cain to God- Genesis 4:14

first of all...what people? there were only Adam and Eve all human beings

came from Adam and Eve..right? the bible it self in Genesis 3:20 says

Eve was mother of all living, The word of God doesn't contradict itself,

humans surely contradict the word though.

Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD and dwelt in the land

of NOD on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and

bore Enoch.

Genesis 4:16

So lets think about this, Cain was scared of "other people" and it also

says Cain and his wife "knew each-other"(In bible terms "had sex") and

they had a son named Enoch. I know when I was reading Genesis , every time

I got to that part about Cain dwelling in the land of Nod and "knowing his wife"

I was like, wait a second what wife? and where did she come from?

was his wife in NOD? did God create other people before or after Adam and Eve?

then I'd be like "meh whatever..." and continued reading, it really wasn't something

that I struggled with or something that made me question my faith, however

for plenty of people that and many other things cause problems, hence

why I started reading the book.

First lets establish the fact that NO.. God didn't create other human beings,

God Created Adam the FIRST MAN, and EVE the FIRST WOMAN,

and through them a genealogy was formed. As Romans says

Therefore, just as through one man(Adam) sin entered the world,

and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men

Romans 5:12

And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being."

The last Adam(Jesus Christ) became a life-giving spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:45

All men/woman of the world are descendants of Adam that is

how sin entered into the world and that is why we are all sinners,

who have no way of saving ourselves, we are wicked and if it wasn't

for the last adam (Christ) we all would get what we truly deserve

and that is eternal separation from God, obviously if it wasn't for Christ

we couldn't even begin to have the relationship we have with Christ.

We sin because Adam sinned, it is all we know..we are fallible creatures.

The bible makes it clear we all must come from Adam and Eve it is

how creation started, and again it says Eve was mother of all living..

For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the

resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in

Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:21-22

And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

Acts 17:26

Can't stress enough how the bible states we all come from one fallible

man and that man being Adam. Now back to the issue with Cain's wife

we don't even read her name, we don't read about Adam and Eve having daughters, in fact the only names we get for Adam and Eve's Children

are Cain,Abel(who gets killed), and Seth( who the bible says is born after

the death of Abel)

And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth,

"for God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain

killed."

Genesis 4:25

And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his

own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. After he begot Seth,

the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.

Genesis 5:3-4

So as you read in Genesis you do see Adam and Eve had daughters,

and more sons then just the three names that are given. In

fact the Jewish historian Josephus wrote that Adam and Eve

had 33 sons and 23 daughters. Now scripture itself doesn't say how many children total were born to them BUT Adam and Eve were commanded in

Genesis to be fruitful and multiply and we see ADAM lived 930 years,

yes...930 flippin years, plenty of time for ALOT of baby making.

So we don't know exactly when Cain married BUT we do know it was before

he went to the land of NOD(hence he didn't go to the land of NOD to get

married for he already was married) and two we know Seth(considered

Abel's replacement) was born when Adam was 130, more then likely

Cain and Able were 100 or more years old when Cain killed Abel hence

plenty of time for Adam and Eve to have had more children in that

time period and for their children's Children to marry and have Children of their own. For in Genesis before Cain kills Abel we read

"And in the process of time it came to pass"

Genesis 4:3

Now of course most people at this point are like...

"Wait a minute so sisters and brothers married?" uh..doesn't God say

that's wrong? indeed he did say that(it's wrong to marry close relatives), but God didn't say that until Moses(Leviticus 18-20)and by that time(thousands of years later) the earth would be populated that you wouldn't have to marry a close relative. It's only obvious if you GO by biblical account that the first generation would have to marry and have children with sisters and or close relatives.

This is probably another issue where people just put the pieces together

and say "well obviously Adam and Eve had a daughter whom Cain married"

but then they say to themselves "that would mean that's his sister and God says thats is wrong and so this doesn't make sense."

It's how life started at first, if all are descendants of Adam like the bible

itself says, it's how it would have to start. Further more like what I stated,

it wasn't wrong until God told Moses it was wrong and that some years later.

So hence if we go by the Bible we see Seth/Cain married close relations

because frankly that would be their only choice, we also see that Adam and Eve had sons AND daughters and we just only read about Seth/Cain and Abel. So we know where Cain got his wife and we know why

after he killed Abel he was scared "others" would kill him, obviously

because Adam and Eve had other children and there children had children

before Abel died and they would be relatives of Abel and would want to

kill Cain for killing Abel.

Now yet another issue some may bring up would be the fact by todays

standards if you had a child with a close relative there is a very good

chance that child would have some kind of deformity, and that is actually

a really good point. HOWEVER Adam and Eve were perfect creations in the

image of God, no defects...no anything..absolutely perfect until they sinned

and brought sin into the world, so if you think about it Adam and Eve and

their children wouldn't have received any imperfect genes, the effects of

sin were not fully formed they were minimal at that point and time, but

by the time of Moses the effects of the fall would have been much greater

so there would be a reason for God to forbid close relative marriages.

Let GOD and His word interpret your thoughts..

NOT

Your thoughts interpret GOD and His word.
